Ridiculous rules at Swinney
Every day I discover something new in the Swinney Recreation Center.
Once I was in men's sauna room when the person on duty broke in to that room to ask me to wrap a towel around my waist.
I sincerely do not know why!
It looks okay not to wear a towel a few feet away from the sauna, but in the sauna - no no - the sauna is a very special room.
But forget about that case; today it was even more entertaining!
I was in the faculty lockers area when my phone rang and I started my conversation on the phone.
Suddenly, the person on duty ran into the room rushing like a fire was taking place there and asked me to stop my conversation.
Why?
Just because my phone has a camera!
How did he know?
Apparently he is trained to recognize all types of camera phones.
What makes the situation even more absurd is that no one was present in that room at that time and when I tried to point that out to the duty guy, the answer was: "Does not matter! My boss says you can't use a phone here!"
Please, explain to me how speaking on the phone relates to taking pictures with the phone?
Those who are in desperate need of taking pictures in that room will take them anyway; they won't speak on the phone!
But this is not my point.
The bottom line: please do not invent ridiculous rules and laws and do not be ridiculously zealous in applying every letter of that rule.
Life is so complex that it is impossible to create a rule or a law for every second of our life.
Those laws do not help and only make life of normal people more difficult. Please do not be ridiculous.

In support of campus-wide referendum
I just want to state that I am also in total support of a campus-wide referendum.
While I ultimately voted for Marcus' impeachment, it was the hardest decisions I have made in student government so far and certainly one of the most unpleasant experiences.
