Graduate students to perform at Coterie

By Jonathan Pearson

For over 25 years the Coterie Theatre has been a staple in Kansas City's theatre district. The Coterie Theatre and UMKC master of fine arts acting program have collaborated since 1992 and formed a successful partnership. The Coterie/UMKC partnership was created by Jeff Church, artistic director and adjunct faculty member at UMKC, along with Dale Rose, former head of the graduate acting program; and Joe Appelt, who now teaches at Northwestern University.

Hometown Harmony

By Nick Kepley

The walls of White Hall were filled with more than just the sounds of "do, re, mi" this past week. The Kansas City Chorale gave a stunning one-night-only concert Jan. 19. Simply the mediocre

By Jordan Kerfeld

Simply the mediocre Abstract, enigmatic album titles bother me. They usually mean the artist either has a lot to say or nothing at all. By Jonathan Pearson

What defines class? Some of us are innately born with it, others are brought up well by it and the rest don't have the slightest clue how it pertains to them. I was in Dallas about a month ago watching the annual Christmas pageant my brother choreographs at our former church.

Food Review

By Ashley Lindemann

Cupini's 1809 Westport Rd. Even though I might argue that Kansas City's favorite ethnic food will always be Mexican, the wide world of Italian dishes owns the role of runner-up. Our suburbs especially seem obsessed with pasta and paninis-I can think of one busy intersection that has four separate Italian chains planted like tent stakes holding down the fields of parking lot asphalt.
