UMKC TV disappeared without warning early last week and left many students, faculty and staff wondering what happened. UMKC TV was a Web site provided by the university that offered cable TV and limited DVR options. Peter Morello, associate professor of Communications Studies, said the original purpose of UMKC TV was to provide a more cost-effective alternative to cable and satellite TV.
The African American Student Union (TAASU) Founders' Celebration lived up to its name Friday evening at Pierson Auditorium. A former assistant to President Truman will know a thing or two about politics and civil rights. Ken Hechler, former Congressman and special assistant to Truman, spoke last Tuesday, Feb. 5 at UMKC School of Education. Hechler spoke about Truman, civil rights and the current presidential elections.
If you have requested a transcript in the last couple of months, you will want to make sure your request went through the Registrar's office. Because of a number of empty positions, including a then-vacant assistant registrar position, and the vast number of transcript requests received in December, the Registrar's office experienced a significant backlog of transcript requests, according to Registrar Doug Swink.
