Curators appoint businessman to lead UM System

Former Sprint CEO Gary Forsee not only faces a new position as head of the University of Missouri (UM) system, but he also faces skeptics who wonder if a businessman can survive in academia. "The Curators made it pretty clear their desire to find someone with a background coming directly from business," Forsee said.

Card readers limit access of papers to students only

New machines are limiting access to student newspapers across campus. USA Today, The New York Times and The Kansas City Star can now only be obtained with a valid UMKC student identification card. As part of the Collegiate Readership Program, the cost of the machines is split between USA Today and The New York Times.

Dec. 2 1:15 p.m. Information - Officers responded to a report of an unidentified male sleeping on the floor in the Health Sciences Building. 5:38 p.m. Illness - Officers responded to a suspect sleeping in Miller Nichols Library. The suspect complained of back pain and was transported to the hospital by MAST ambulance.
