It would be unfair to title this piece "Failing from Grace." But our patience is finished. It is time to release the results of the internal investigation into the sexual harassment case that has so sorely hurt the image of this university. Affirmative Action Director Grace Hernandez is not solely responsible for the delay.
My 16 months at UMKC have drawn to an end, and it has been quite an experience. Despite what the surveys may say, I argue that we are indeed a very diverse higher learning institution. If you don't believe me, take a walk across the Quad, through Miller Nichols Library and on to the University Center.
