Dead Irish cat, live Irish terrorists on stage in dark comedy

Don't mess with an Irish cat. You may come to regret the deed after feeling the wrath of its owner, who is hell-bent on revenge. This absurd premise unravels in "The Lieutenant of Inishmore," a very dark comedy written by Martin McDonagh. It is playing at the Unicorn Theatre until Nov.

Eleven o'clock is jazz time

A group of musicians in the Conservatory of Music and Dance at UMKC meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. to play jazz. They showed the results of their dedicated practice to the audience in Pierson Auditorium on Oct. 16. The group, called the Eleven o'Clock Jazz Band, is directed by Michael Pagán, assistant professor of jazz studies.

Peruvian Chef Juan Carlos Barzola was on campus to cook lunch with the dining staff as part of Sodexho's Global Chef program. The Global Chef program transfers Sodexho's executive chefs from its affiliates around the world in 80 countries to share international cuisine and different techniques across cultures.
