The out-of-court settlement of $1.1 million for sexual harassment this summer has had the same effect on our campus that Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber," has had on airports. Legal paranoia has reached new heights and changed many university policies. All faculty and staff must undergo mandatory Unlawful Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Seminars.
