Well-known choreographer visits dance students

University of Missouri-Kansas City dance students had the opportunity to take some master classes with famed choreographer Donald McKayle at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Aug. 23-24. The two master classes covered the history of dance and dance composition for choreography.

Local coffee shop contributes to the community

A new Kansas City coffee shop is focused on giving back. Entrepreneur Edward Neer, with business partners Tim Wikstrom and Jennifer Platt, opened the Ten Cup coffee shop, 651 E. 59th St., this past January with the community in mind. Part of the Ten Cup's business plan is to donate 10 percent of its profits to ten separate charities each quarter.
