Spring Break
The UMKC men's soccer team went 2-0 in exhibition matches against Rockhurst University and Baker University. Wednesday evening at Rockhurst, the Kangaroos overcame a very early 1-0 deficit and came back to beat the Hawks 2-1. On Saturday afternoon, they posted a 4-2 victory over the Baker Wildcats at Swope Park.
The UMKC volleyball team played in a Blue and Gold practice game this past Friday night. The blue team won out for the evening, 3-1. Both teams played rather well, with new freshmen Kristen Berthiamne and Kelly Gettinger showing their new team that they can hold their own.
Elder selected as interim volleyball coach Chrissy Elder, who joined UMKC last season as an assistant volleyball coach, will serve as interim head volleyball coach until the position is permanently filled. Former head coach Steve Dallman left in July to lead the volleyball program at the University of Virginia-Wise.
