'The Nerd' provides great laughs

I laughed 'til I peed. And then I laughed at that. Who knew a flashback from my childhood could be so funny? It's winter time and "rumor has it" people are considerably more depressed in wintertime than any other season. So forget paying your shrink $150 an hour: go see Larry Shue's "The Nerd" at the American Heartland Theatre at Crown Center.

Experimental artist reaches students through film

Caitlin Horsmon has been interested in film history since she was a little girl. "I used to watch old movies and westerns with my dad," Horsmon remembers. Horsmon is in her second semester teaching film and media at UMKC. "UMKC's film and media emphasis in the Department of Communication Studies is a great program," said Horsmon, who accepted a teaching position with UMKC primarily because of the strength of the program and her colleagues.

It takes me a long time to read a book. And when I actually have an extended period of time to read a book, I really read and enjoy a book. I believe I have finally found a book that removes all of the unnecessary time it takes to read a forlorn tale or satirical masterpiece.
