Big deal for a night

UMKC student Layna Dugan made her national television debut Friday on "Deal Or No Deal" taking home $27,000 at the end of the night.

"It was definitely exciting," Dugan said. "When you think about possibly winning one million it's hard to settle for anything else. But, in the end, just winning something was awesome."

The show's producers contacted Dugan three weeks before the show to let her know when it would be filmed.

They chose a wedding theme and flew Dugan's husband and bridal party out for the filming. The models and Dugan's group appeared in wedding attire.

Host Howie Mandel gave her a wedding gift of six million dollar cases, but it wasn't meant to be. Nevertheless, Dugan said the experience made her feel like a "rock star." - Alexia Lang
