Guthrie steals show with two goal performance

Junior midfielder Garret Guthrie provided the glitz, as well as the goals, for the UMKC Kangaroos Soccer squad Sunday afternoon.

Booting through both tallies inside the first thirty minutes of action, Guthrie and his teammates held on to defeat Central Arkansas 2-1. The win brought the Roos record on the road trip even with a win, a tie, and a loss.

Despite being outshot 20-11 by the Bears, the Kangaroos solid defense carried the day.

The squad returns home on Thursday, Sept. 27 for a 3 p.m. match on Bourke Field against the University of Evansville.
