Alcoholic Drink Recipes: (www.webtender.com)
Devil's Advocate
1 shot Bacardi Lim?n
1 shot Triple sec
3/4 oz. sour mix
1 Tbsp. grenadine
4 oz cranberry juice
Pumpkin Pie
2 parts Kahlua
1 part Bailey's Irish Cream
1 part Goldschlager
Cinnamon
Place all alcohol in a fire proof glass, light on fire and sprinkle cinnamon on top to "cook." Blow fire out and serve.
Brain Hemmorage
1 oz Peach Schnapps
1 tsp Bailey's Irish Cream
1/2 tsp grenadine
Pour schnapps into shot glass. Slowly pour Bailey's over the schnapps, but do not mix. The Bailey's will clump up to look like a brain. Pour grenadine over the clumped Bailey's.
Non-Alcoholic Drink Recipes: (www.recipezaar.com)
Witches Brew
12 cups cran-raspberry juice
4 1/2 cups orange juice
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups lime juice
Combine all ingredients in large bowl and chill.
Blue Slime Sipper
1 6oz package of blue raspberry Jell-O
3 cups prepared lemonade
3 cups Sprite, 7-Up or Sierra Mist
2 cups boiling water
4 cups cold water
In a large mixing bowl, combine Jell-O and boiling water. Stir until the Jell-O is dissolved. Stir in the cold water.
Cover and chill for at least 4 hours (until gelatin is partially set).
To serve: Stir gelatin with large spoon or whisk until it breaks into small pieces.
Add 1/4 cup lemonade in a large glass. Then add 1/2 cup gelatin, and 1/4 cup soda. Stir all ingredients together and then enjoy.
10 Must-see Halloween movies since 1975
The United States prides itself in its portrayal of thrills, chills, gore and screams. Hundreds of Halloween horror flicks have been created since the founding of Tinsel Town, but only few have survived technological advances and a public that is becoming more and more desensitized to violence in the media. Because there are so many to choose from, the cut off date for this list is 1975, so movies like "The Exorcist" (1973) and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974) didn't make it, but are still recommended. There are also several foreign horror flicks ("Ju-on" and "Ringu," for example) that were also not taken into consideration. This short list was compiled by combining top choices from several movie Web sites, so hunt around if this list does not satisfy you. Most movies were selected for utter thrill and horror, their contribution to pop culture (and multiple sequels) or their timelessness and creativity.
"The Shining" (1980)
"Halloween" (1978)
"Alien" (1979)
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984)
"Silence of the Lambs" (1991)
"Seven" (1995)
"The Changeling" (1980)
"Dawn of the Dead" (1978, 2004)
"Poltergeist" (1982)
"Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975)
Theme songs for your Halloween party
The music industry has produced a lot of hits centered on the paranormal and horrendously horrible. This list, also starting in 1975, leaves off some favorites such as "The Monster Mash" (1962) and "I Put a Spell on You" (1957), but should give you a jump-start on a mix CD for your 2008 Halloween party.
"Nightmare on My Street" - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (1988)
"Thriller" - Michael Jackson (1982)
"Time Warp" - Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack (1975)
"Ghost Busters" - Ray Parker, Jr. (1984)
"Dracula's Wedding" - Outkast & Kelis (2003)
"Disturbia" - Rihanna (2008)
"Halloween" - The Misfits (1981)
