Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Classes: This is the first in a seven-week program. Program is from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. in room 161 of the University Center.

UMKC American Medical Association Blood Drive: Blood drive is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UMKC Medical School, Bamberger classroom (M4-CO5), 2411 Holmes St.

Free Fitness Demo at Swinney: Tae Bo Basics demo is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in aerobic room 304. Bring a towel and water.

UMKC Friends of the Library: This final book sale of the semester is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the ground floor of the Miller Nichols Library.

Women's Center Film Series: "No! Confronting Sexual Assault in Our Community" starts at noon in University Center room 161.

Walk for Words: Fundraising benefit for the Writer's Place. Pledge sheet can be downloaded on their Web site: http://www.thewritersplace.org. Walk-a-thon starts at 10 a.m. at the Writer's Place, 3607 Pennsylvania Ave., $20 registration fee.
