UMKC hires new volleyball coach

Geno Frugoli has been hired as the new head volleyball coach for the UMKC Kangaroo squad.

Frugoli comes to UMKC after spending the past three seasons as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Baylor Bears of the Big XII Conference. In his time with the Bears, the program enjoyed a great deal of recruiting success.

In 2006, Frugoli was the primary recruiter behind a class of volleyball athletes ranked 16th nationally.

Prior to his arrival at Baylor, the new coach put together the first men's volleyball program in the state of Nebraska at Peru State College in Peru, Neb., and guided the team to a Top-10 ranking in a national NAIA poll.

The coach will assume his coaching duties sometime in mid-January.
