Abstract:
The African Student Culture Organization (A.S.C.O.) held its first meeting on Sept. 4 in Royall Hall.
The mission statement of the organization contains four key points: assist in the transition of African students into UMKC, inform and educate the campus about issues in Africa, organize academic and cultural events, promote awareness of African culture and cooperate with other campus-based organizations....

UniTee Design believes we all are all our youth need to succeed. Our sole goal is to help better educate today's children and teens by connecting our people and maximizing our resources. Caring citizens, parents, students, schools, groups, businesses, churches, and many others are working with us to create more academic successes.
"UniTees" (custom designed tee shirts proudly featuring the red, black and green [RBG] colors of African American culture) are used to teach children our rich history and heritage to uplift self-esteem and self-identity. And sales of UniTees help fund and develop a variety of youth education programs and initiatives.
The UniTee "Funraising" Program helps schools, churches, clubs and community groups raise funds for good causes by selling "UniTee" Shirts. It's a wonderful way to build teamwork, spread unity, and empower young entrepreneurs. And we'll even design a new "UniTee" with your logo on it.
UniTee Design custom designs tee shirts for people, projects and special events such as family reunions, church outings, and more.
The Better Detroit Youth Movement is a volunteer-based coalition committed to establishing higher levels of communication, cooperation and collaboration among youth and community service providers. This effort will result in the development of a Youth Resource Guide for Detroit children and teens. The BDYM is also producing a television show entitled "Celebrating Our Children" for airing in the Detroit market.
The urgency to revive the power of our people in unity to achieve more positive and productive outcomes for our youth is obvious. As a proponent in the belief we are strongest and at our best when we rise as one, I welcome collaborations towards a common cause and for a greater good.
Please check out this short video (www.uniteedesign.com/video.html) to learn about a growing movement that's empowering brighter futures every day.
Let's continue to encourage others to actively participate in uplifting the quality of life and learning for our children.
And, together, we will show the world how beautiful, smart and special they really are.
