How sad! This is an excellent example of the twisted politics that go on at UMKC. What if some random student did something like this and the administration found out? What would be the punishment I wonder? Probation? Suspension? Expulsion? But for an ex-SGA President it resulted in a slap on the wrist and probably no long term consequences...
I have two questions about this: First is why didn't Ms. Johnson have to go through all of the normal proceedings someone should of had to go through with UMKC? Shouldn't a report of been filed, a trial held and a verdict decided on? I would assume Mel Tyler would have the power to overturn the punishment but why did Ms. Johnson get to skip the first steps? From what I have seen of the malevolent politics at UMKC I would have thought some young SGA Senators would salivate at the ideas of getting back at Ms. Johnson... I mean impeachment of an SGA Executive member is pretty much a perennial activity at UMKC, so why did you let her slide this time?
My second question is why haven't criminal charges been filed? I'm not a lawyer but I'm pretty sure presenting forged documents in court is a pretty serious crime... In closing, I highly doubt Ms. Johnson presented that faked document because she couldn't come up with $100 to pay what she owed. She presented those fake documents for one reason, her pride. So why does her hubris go unpunished?

Well I can't say I'm not laughing at this. She decided to stab the people who used to be friends with and care about her in the back and then tried to hide the bloody knife with fraud. Then again at this point I'm not surprised with what she does or has done. Hope Kansas City's finest and the District Attorney's office get a copy of this and earn those paychecks. You'll find me enjoying retirement from UMKC's politics and planning what Law school to attend while watching this little gem continue to be played out.

Good luck folks on divorcing the school from this little black eye.

This is quite a turn of events. I mean really? All of that over $100? Makes me wonder what else she has done when the stakes were a little higher. Granted I don't think anyone will ever find that out. I'm with Matt on the whole retirement thing. I hope that new generation of UMKC politicians actually serves the students as opposed committing their time to such petty uses.
