Thank your local SGA for their lack of support for students/unwillingness to question the UM brass.

Some of it has to do with land. Because the university is stuck in the middle of a city, land is very scarce. When the Rockhill parking structure was put up, there was public outcry because homes were bought out for the project. Kauffman Memorial Gardens, which sits at the intersection of Rockhill, Cherry, and Volker was origionally bought to be soccer fields for the university, eating up more homes. There is not enouhg property on the "troost side" of campus.

HOwever, there is plenty of involvement of the campus and surrounding communities.

Plus, don't forget that a brand new Health Science building has been constructed (after a huge stall in the Missouri Legislature).

Why are you so surprised at UM boon doggles? In my student daze I've plenty of them at KC, Columbia, and 'Um Sull'...

The Wall Street Tsunami started on Main Street, and Troost, and Blue Ridge Extension.

The insular, corrupt cabals of Hickman's Mill/ Hickman Mills School District and Shitty Hall conspired to spend A QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS for a totally unneeded perimeter barrier at Ruskin High School.

The current chain link fence is totally serviceble. Ya want fancy, have the after hours detention kids throw some vine seeds at the base of the current structure.

Ya want more fancy? Have the students slide wooden slats [grape stakes] into the chain link! Duh!

Insanity, the sign of the times.
