Facing the number 21 ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits, the UMKC Lady Kangaroos were blown away with a final score of 93-61.

Winning on the road seems to be a struggle for the Roos. Coming into last Saturday's contest they were 3-7 and now 3-8.

At the start of the first half, the Roos came out and tested the Summit League's number one team. At the 14:21 mark, the Roos managed to take the lead (10-11) with two free throws by junior guard Chazny Morris. Freshman forward Mariah Davis scored three consecutive baskets, helping the Roos take the lead.

Then the Jackrabbits put the pedal to the metal leaving the Roos in the dust. They went on a 25-6 run and pushed the Roos deficit to 18 at the 7:08 mark.

The Jackrabbits did not let up until the Roos were down 22.

The second half proved to be the same, as the Roos could not stop this Summit League power-house.

They only managed to cut the deficit to 19 (60-41), at the 13:26 mark. All other efforts fell short, and the Jackrabbits defense held the Roos to 37 percent from the field.

The largest lead for the Jackrabbits was 34 at the 2:34 mark, with a score of 89-55.

The Jackrabbits had four players with double figures. Senior forward Jennifer Warkenthien and sophomore guard Kristin Rotert led the way for the Jackrabbits with 16 points apiece.

Morris and Davis led the way for the Roos. They both had 12 points, and Davis snatched down 12 rebounds. Junior guard Jessica Halsig chipped in 10 points.

The Lady Kangaroos lost their first of two battles on the road, bringing their record to 11-13 (6-7 Summit League).
