Students take to the gridiron for the intramural flag football playoffs.

The intramural flag football playoffs took place Oct. 6, 7 and 11.

The tournament was set up so winners of games on Oct. 6 and 7 would move on to the games on Oct. 11, which would decide the intramural flag football champion.

The games on Oct. 6 started off with four men's match ups and ended with the women's game.

The men's matches were Lambda Chi Alpha vs. The Taters, Balls Deep vs. The Perforators, Mechies vs. SAE I and Oral Pleasure vs. Bye Week.

Lambda Chi Alpha won, 28-8, the Perforators won, 38-28, Bye Week won, 22-12, and Mechies won via forfeit, 1-0.

Even though there were more men's games, the women's game won the close game award.

The women's game, pitted Gamma Alpha Lambda against Chi Omega.

In lieu of having an A and B game, the teams decided on a single match.

The match went into double overtime (OT) and was close even at the end.

Before OT, the teams were tied, 8-8. In the first OT, both teams only scored an additional six points to tie it up, 14-14.

Finally, at the end of the second OT, Chi Omega scored eight points in response to Gamma's seven. The close, intense game ended, 22-21, in Chi Omega's favor.

On Oct. 7, there were six men's games. The first were Drill and Fill vs. Beta A, and Shake n' Bake vs. Beta B.

Drill and Fill managed to beat Beta A with a final score of 13-12. Rx Team played next against Lollipop Guild.

Rx won, 28-16. Sloppy Cronkites faced The Honor Code Violators and won 28-27 in a close match.

The Quashers finished the night up with a win against SAE II. The final score was 13-6.

Oct. 11 was the final day of intramural flag football. There were A and B brackets that played for the championship.

In the B bracket, Beta B beat the Mechies, 33-6. The next game was a forfeit to Sloppy Cronkites by Lambda Chi, making the official final score 1-0. Tossin' Bombs on Your Moms played Beta B and won 27-6.

The B bracket championship game was Tossin' Bombs on Your Moms vs. Sloppy Cronkites. Tossin' Bombs won with a final score of 40-0.

The A bracket started off with Bye Week forfeiting to Drill n' Fill, making the final score 1-0.

The following game was the Quashers vs. Rx Team. The Quashers won, 15-6.

Drill n' Fill played The Perforators afterward and won 32-24, moving on to the championship game.

The final game of the A bracket was Drill n' Fill vs. the Quashers. Drill n' Fill proved how much they wanted to win even after playing two tiring games. The final score was 20-18.

"We like the t-shirts more this year," said Drill n' Fill team member and third year dental student Tyler Webb. "Hopefully we'll be back next year!"
